A Side Attractioin
Billy looked at the tent with its various items for sale. There were toys, sunglasses, plastic airplanes and small life-like dolls. He picked up one and thought how much it looked like Tommy, his friend who disappeared two weeks ago.
He sat the doll down and headed home through the back way. The woods was scary for a kid, but he was twelve and brave. The sound of the twig snapping behind him came too late.

Joe looked at the tent items that were for sale. Funny, how much that little doll looked like his friend, Billy…

Definitely the beginning to something much bigger. Loved this.

Gonna have to do a 2-3 parter on this one.

Creeeepy!! Anybody notice Chucky, the doll on that shelf? Remind me where this carnival is…I’ll steer clear of it.

Love Chucky! At least the first couple of installments – freaked me out.

Creepy yes, but just brisk enough to allow me to get to sleep at night. Would love to see a follow up. 😉

I have had several people mention that. I have put it in my notes and may do a segmented short story on my blog here.
Hope you will see it.

Now that’s scary, kind of “Tales from the Cryptian!” Doubt anyone would buy the Perry doll though so the twig snapper would probably leave me alone, I hope.

Hmm, never thought of it not being someone! Could be a whole new story!

Perry…I tried numerous times to leave a comment on your story but cannot access your site. Sorry.

That was a scary little tale, almost like a Grimm tale.

Loved that! Lots of thoughts conjured up, as to who’s taking the kids and why. Also the first line of the Teddy Bear’s Picnic song came to mine…

I felt like I was in the middle of a Twilight episode. Like Doug mentioned, pretty soon everyone will be a doll. How freaky is that? Well done!

Thanks, hmm, that would be bad…all dolls and no people.

Dear Scott,
That shelf is going to be crowded and the town is going to be empty. Law of diminished returns. Nice story with a mysterious twist.
Aloha,
Doug

Ah, well done. I am not alone in going to the dark side I see. 🙂

No, I enjoy the darkside…as long as it stays there and not actually with me!
