Holiday Feast

“Oh, how I hate the holidays!” thought Trevor.
He looked down the street. The lights bothered his eyes and played with his vision. Things were not clear. The halo effect and the shimmering was simply more of a problem now than the rest of the year. He looked ahead and saw the lone man standing holding a package. He liked them thinner and younger and, well, female, but…
“Beggars and all that,” he finished the idea almost out loud.
“At least, he’s too big for me to lose!”
He managed to keep his fangs protracted as he began the hunt.

Ha! What a wonderful surprise at the end. Migraine headaches first came to mind when you mentioned the lights, but with my love of monsters and immortals I should have been thinking vampire. *face palm* I really enjoyed the flow of this piece.

Sounds like a scene from the ‘Twilight’ series, but instead of an ‘Edward’ it is a Trevor. I had to laugh at this in a way, Scott. My little 5 yr old grandson’s name is Trevor, and his mom (my youngest daughter) is a big fan of the “Twilight’ movie and book series and never misses them. She, my oldest daughter and my husband all went to see the last and final episode of ‘Breaking Dawn’, part II. Another thing I thought was a little funny was that it sounded like this Trevor (a vampire?) cannot see well and maybe has cataracts? Ha Ha. I have cataracts and have to really peer into, and focus on things far and near and am having cataract surgery done in a month. Then maybe I can see better too. Ha! Can I use this as an excuse for many of my mistakes in my writing? I try to. LOL

Retractable fangs are so much better than the old look-out-I’m-a-vampire type!! Send the address of that mall so I avoid it. Wait–I try to avoid all malls, so I should miss him.
Off to get the business of the day going now that I’ve read through another row of stories and looking forward to the next break so I can read some more. Life has such a habit of interfering with my fun!!! Thanks for being a part of starting my day out well.
