Friday Fictioneers – I am glad the Mayans were wrong!
“Let’s go in for a cup of Java,” said George, smiling.
“I don’t have time,” I replied.
“Then, let’s go in here…see the picture? They serve half cups!”
“Not funny, George.” My patience was short.
“I suppose that the fact there is a Steaming cup on the door and it is located on Fulton street isn’t funny, either?” His smile never let up.
“No, that’s even worse!” I was getting mad now.
“Okay, tell you what: you go in there and tell them you are Steamed and want the best cup of Fulton…”.
He didn’t see it coming at all.

Maybe it’s because I’m British, maybe I’m just a bit thick, but I don’t know what the Fulton Steamer is??? Sorry 😦

Robert Fulton invented the first steamboat. It was a stretch.

Dear Scott,
I am so glad i stayed away from the Fulton Steamer aspect of the prompt. You took it places I’d never have found. Good job, especially the last line.
Aloha,
Doug

Wow! That’s a compliment. And good to see someone else saw that hideous pun.
