“Who Woulda Thought?”
By Scott L Vannatter
____________
Who woulda thought?
Hal had brought in the beautiful flowers he had purchased for Easter. He decided to give them to Lilly, his secretary, after work. He hoped she would take them home and think of him.
It had not worked out that way. He had taken them to her desk after the others had left and given them to her with a smile. Her reaction had been immediate. Her entire being radiated, and she ran to embrace him.
Now, they were going to have to sort through and find their clothes on his office carpet. Good thing…the door?…the custodian!

Namaste,
Scott

I’ll bet he thinks more about potential reactions to flowers in the future, lol.

Hi Scott,
A rainy Sunday night and I’m finally getting to your story. Thanks for your comment on my story. Very timely to tie your story to Easter and it was very . . . stimulating! Ron

Great story Scott. I got confused by the last sentence because the word custodian is unfamiliar to me, but the comments straightened me out and now I understand he got more than he (or she) was expecting when he opened the door!

I am certain that is true!

I too love fresh flowers. 😉

I hope this guy isn’t married! He obviously had a thing for her all ready and she for him too. Who is the custodian KS? Is it a person who locks up the building at night. Excuse my ignorance here, I’m English!
LikeLike
The custodian would be the janitor. He would have keys to all the rooms in the building. I did that type of job for awhile different places. Never had that type of experience, though.

Funny ending. Hopefully the custodian’s not one with a taste for blackmail.

Oh, the plot thickens.

So that is the key? I may buy some flowers today. Just kidding. Sound like they are getting caught red-handed.

The question would be: is it still worth it?
I never got to her reaction to the custodian.

Maybe next week’s prompt will allow that continuation.

The way to a woman’s heart is through flowers.

I have known a few who would just as soon have the money.

They say that, but they still love the flowers.

That’s good to know.

I believe that is called prostitution.

I had a psychology professor that said prostitution was legal in all 50 states; we call it dating. Where else does a guy pay $50-100 on a woman and “hope” he gets a kiss goodnight?

I should pick up some lillies before I head into work in the morning!

That’s an idea! First time I heard that one.

Those must be some powerful lilies. He sounds like a lucky guy unless she sues for sexual harassment.

Almost sounds like he could be the one to do that.

Lilies for Lily, eh? After that story, flowers for Secretary’s Day are definitely out for any husbands we know!! Glad Bill doesn’t have a secretary and works only with men.

Wow, that was one effective present! Good job, liked the scramble for clothes, can just picture how awkward that would be in an office…

That custodian seems like a little upcoming problem, but hopefully he enjoyed his time with Lilly. Nowadays we all sit in office landscape so this type of things is out of the question.
