“David and Goliaths”

by Scott L Vannatter

“If Jordan’s joshin’ us, I’ll clobber ’em,” stated Carter of the nasty Joelman twins.

“Ya right thar,” remarked Ian.

They walked to the crowd of kids, pushing their way thru.

Jodan cringed.  He stuttered.

“Y-y-o-u-u c-c-an g-g-o f-r-r-e-e.”

“Darn betcha!”

They followed Jordan’s finger, walked to see what the heck it was.

They saw two old stone monuments that looked a little like huge batteries.  They stared at Jordan.

“You have to walk between them,” he managed to  yell.

The boys did so; lightning crackled and the pair disappeared.

“We better go!”  Josh yelled over the cheering of the crowd.

carly books

I read lots of books, from mythology retellings to literary fiction and I love to reread books from childhood, this is a place to voice my thoughts for fun. I also like to ramble about things such as art or nature every now and again.
