“Sailing Away”

Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

Jensen throttled the boat’s motor and cut effortlessly through the choppy waters of the harbor.  In the distance he saw old Liberty, the remnant of what was once a great nation.  A nation that had been torn apart by nuclear war based, mostly, on a sad choice by the government.  Who could have foreseen a third world nation that could afford to be in league with a nuclear power strong enough and crazy enough to launch at the US?

“I certainly couldn’t,” he said thinking of billions of lives lost in minutes by a mistake and a single crazy person.

carly books

I read lots of books, from mythology retellings to literary fiction and I love to reread books from childhood, this is a place to voice my thoughts for fun. I also like to ramble about things such as art or nature every now and again.
