Rochelle Wise-off has brought us, once again, Friday Fictioneers. This is the place in which writers take a photo prompt (see above for this week) and write a stand-alone story or segment of 100 words (+/-). After reading my entry below, click > HERE < for the rest of the entries. Enjoy!!!

Uphill Living
By Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words
Zane looked down below at the beautiful home of Mortimer. Mortimer was having another party. It was another party in which Zane had not been invited. He could not help being poor. It had taken him two days and all of his donkey’s efforts to move the five-foot boulder to a good spot in front of his house.
“Tonight would be a bit different,” he thought. “Tonight, Mortimer would learn two things: First, he would learn that parties are meant to be celebrations among friends and neighbors. Second, he would learn that I am poor, but live uphill.”
He pushed.

I guess they were not playing “the rolling stones” at that party… Uphill has it’s advantages.

However, it would seem that the party was crashed and they were all stoned. Good one, Bjorn.

Be careful where you choose to live. And which neighbours to invite to the party. Fun.

An uphill task! Irked neighbours can be very destructive sometimes..

I try not to irk them, though it does happen!

Haha! Moral of the story: Don’t live downwind from the outhouse, and never piss off your uphill neighbor. Just brilliant, this is so funny!
