Shakespeare and a Bridge
Scott L Vannatter – 100 words
(I beg forgiveness in advance)
Tommy was on the set. He heard the noise, turned, saw the spot break off and crash through the window.
“Clark! What light broke that old window pane?” Carol hollered over everyone.
“It’s the One and Maintenance has done its best.”
“This prose, no matter what you call it, will smell, that you can tweet!” screamed James from the back.
“Well, tomorrow and tomorrow and the day after are going to keep going slow until time stops talking.”
“And all our yesterdays used that big spot to light fools the way to crusty Seth.”
“Lunch!” and all were played out.

As I began reading this I thought (out loud) “What the hell is this shite? The dialogue is appall….oooooohhhhh.”
It hit me in the face like a Shakespearean codpiece.
Well played, sir. Well played.

Now, that was funny. Took me a second read to realise it though. Nicely done.
