Friday Fictioneers is hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields and uses the prompt below (this week) for its various 100 word (+/-) stories. Read mine after the pic and then click > HERE < for the rest. Enjoy!!!
Arch(ed) Eyebrows
By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words
Morton Hammerall, in classic form, walked to the dais near the center of the arch and faced into the courtyard.
He began by giving his prepared speech. First, was the acceptance and the humility of that acceptance. Next, came the reasons for his being chosen in the first place.
Third, was his recognition of all those who had helped him reach this pinnacle of his spiritual and leadership existence.
He spoke loudly and strongly with great devotion and humbled thankfulness. He raised his arms for the applause.
It was then he fully realized that he was facing the wrong way.

Yes, but that sounds more like something I would need to watch, especially since the stroke.

Strikes me he wasn’t following the rule of making eye contact with the audience! I loved how you puffed him up, then let him down for us all. Good stuff!

Thanks! Yes, eye contact…that would’ve done it.

Could happen. I hope it never happens, let’s say, to the Pope!

If it happened to this Pope..no problem…people would think it’s the new trend and suddenly everyone is doing it…
