A Mere Reflection in a Mirror

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words

Josef stood in front of the looking glass that was hanging in his living room. First, he felt around the edges, then he got some cleaner and cleaned it thoroughly. When that did not have the desired effect, he sat on the couch and began thinking, hard.

He paced and shook his head, put his fingers on his chin in that proper thinking position. Nothing good came to mind. Tears formed in both eyes.

Finally, he stood up straight looked in the mirror, gathered all the courage he could muster, and said, “No reflection. Guess she was really a vamp!”
