Just One Thing
By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words
“It looks wonderful, Jacob!” Toby was all smiles as he appreciatively looked over his friend’s new find. It was an early model automobile all decked out with a scoop shovel at the front and a digger at the back. “You won’t ever have to worry about getting stuck in the snow now!”
Toby instantly regretted that remark as he realized how little snow fell in this area each year. Getting stuck in snow would not happen anyway.
Jacob’s face fell even lower. “Not the problem,” he stated.
“What?”
“Look under the hood.”
Toby did. The lack of engine looked back.

Sounds like Jacob’s indulged in a spot of impulse buying. Fun story.

Any problem can be overcome with a little cash and a lot of time. Or in this case maybe the other way round…

I would agree with both statements.

If it’s not one thing, it’s another… right? Very amusing.

Ha! Love the twist. Yeah, that’s a mighty big problem, even though the backhoe is pretty useful.

Hahaha…. Oh, the destructive force of “just one thing”. 😉

Ah yes, I have used that comment myself, at least, in my mind…

Dear Scott,
It’s always something, right? Good story. He should be able to dig an engine up somewhere.
Aloha,
