“An Enigma”
By Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words
Detective Joel looked at the area of the wreck. Thousands of small plastic balls, short dowel rods, tiny dice, petite cups, slips of paper, bits of string, and other assorted items were scattered all around the area. The overturned truck nearby read “Olsen’s Novelties.” His cell phone rang.
“Yes, Chief.”
“Well, how’s it going?”
“Well, Sir. Just have a few things to work out.”
Here it comes…
“Well, out with it, Son. You said in your initial report that this one would be a tough one. Something about a thousand puzzles to solve.”
Oh how he loved his work, sometimes…

Nice story. He’s really looking forward to a bit of goofing off on the boss’s time. I hope he enjoys himself. Fun.

I hope Det. Scott won’t have to pick up the pieces of the puzzle – just solve the puzzle – unless, of course, it’s Olsen’s jigsaw puzzle. Cute story, Randy
