Lighting the Way (100 words) by Scott Vannatter
Sam and the others walked outside to gather round the “lampost” that had dropped form the sky and stuck in the middle of Elm street. All were trying to figure out where it had come from.
“Hurricane,” yelled one.
“Airplane,” hollered another.
Sam was just starting to get his head wrapped around it when the light began to glow. It got brighter until no one could look at it. Then, abruptly, lightning bolts sizzled out of it and struck every house on the block.
Sam thought, “Aliens,” when he realized there where fires on other blocks, too.
It had begun.

NICELY DONE, once again, sir, I much enjoyed this and whys it gotta be aliens… why can’t it be unicorns! lol nah who knows, maybe those aliens will make earth great again, maybe they are here to help us.. BAM! MIC DROP.

You know, from what I read, it is most likely there are aliens on other worlds, but, as I see it, if they are not hundreds or thousands of years ahead of us, they may not know we are here any more than we do them.

IF you ever want to read a very interesting book about “intlolerance” and aliens…Arthur C Clarke “Childhood’s End”. Sci-fi but so intriguing.
