This is the location for another writing prompt I am taking part in. It is called: 100-word-challenge-for-grown-ups. I will put the entries here just like on the other page. Comments are entered after the last entry before the already done comments.

Vegetarian or Die?
By Scott L Vannatter
August 6, 2012
He sat in the wrecked car fifty feet down the embankment, darkness approaching.
It had been (what?) nearly two days. Old back road, rainy season, and heavy forest made rescue nearly impossible. His legs trapped horribly; Jane, he looked at her body, dead and gone. The food bag, hers from McDonald’s lay within reach. Not for the first time he truly regretted being a vegetarian and devoted health nut.
He picked up the sack. There were a few less fries and the top bun gone. Weakening countenance. He could see the writing on the wall. “Any port in a storm.”

Samuel looked, first to the right and then to the left. The heat was nearly unbearable. What had he done? All he had done was get up, get dressed, and jog around the park. After a bit, he had gotten tired and sat down to rest. Sweat poured from him in sheets. It was over. Yes, he had tossed the cigarette earlier. Now, after his nap, he had found the woods ablaze. Together the flames and the smoke would do him in. Yep, smoking had killed him, just like Kim said. Too late, he saw the river down below him; he died knowing.
