Five Sentence Fiction – Trust – “All’s Fair” Rated PG13

Lillie, once again, brings us Five Sentence Fiction.  Stories created from the one-word prompt and having only five sentences start to finish. This week’s word is:  Trust.  My story contribution is below; everyone else’s is > HERE < Enjoy!!!

Trust

“All’s Fair”

By Scott L Vannatter – December 7, 2014

Sandra watched as Joel left Michelle and walked into his apartment; she especially watched how he looked at Michelle as they kissed goodbye.

She wanted that affection so very much and was willing to take…every step necessary.

Sandra opened the canister she had purchased from Gilda and removed a large chunk of the ill-smelling creme so she could mix it with the hairs she had “borrowed” from Sandra’s comb.

Rubbing the awful mix into a lotion-like substance, Sandra rubbed it all over her hands, face, hair, and even under her clothing, feeling a definite tingle throughout the process.

Standing behind the corner of a building, she changed clothing into something she had again “borrowed” at Michelle’s and walked toward the apartment building as a “new” woman.

Irritation

“Smoothing It Out”

By Scott L Vannatter – November 22, 2014

Melvin stepped up to the podium and began addressing the Near-Omnicient Ever-Present Overseer of Planetary Works.

“Sir, the universal conveying team wishes to assert their opinion that the Earth people were merely illustrating their ignorance when they mentioned the idea that there can be no other life in the galaxy except their own.”

The NOEPOPW, his irritation plain to see, glanced at Melvin sideways through his fourth optical and gyrated fully on his plex before huffing and signing the papers to stop the galactic hub from being built in the space in which Earth resided.

Melvin sighed realizing that this would have been even worse than the problem with Earth’s second moon fifty thousand years ago.

Five Sentence Fiction – Flight – “Liftoff” PG13 – Sci-fi

Lillie gives us Five Sentence Fiction.   Prompt is “flight.”  My story is below; the rest are > HERE < Enjoy!!!

Flight

“Liftoff”

By Scott L Vannatter

Cameron pulled back on the throttle as he moved several other switches and adjusted a dial or two, and the motor purred, then sputtered, then popped, and stopped completely.

“Dang it!” he yelled as the techie crew surrounded the craft and began twisting, turning, and maneuvering several dozen parts and gadgets on the vehicle.

He went through the same routine as before with the switches, dials, and throttle, smiling as the craft behaved and lurched forward running faster and faster until it achieved flight.

Cameron soared over canyons, twisted through mountain passes, and skimmed over vast plains.

Anywhere else this would not seem quite the task, but here on Mars, the first flight made by man using a craft built on the planet would burst the Internet lines when the transmission reached home.

Five Sentence Fiction – Envy – The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly – Rated PG13

Five Sentence Fiction – hosted by Lillie – My story after the pic – prompt is Envy – All rest entries are > HERE < Enjoy!!!

Envy

“The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”

By Scott L Vannatter – November 7, 2014

Sharon watched as Sam kissed Maggie right in front of her.

At that moment, Sharon hated both Maggie and Sam, even though they were all under six years old; jealousy and envy are very closely related at that age.

Sharon ran off into the woods to her favorite tree, the one with the big thick bark and the wise old owl who often talked to her at times like these.

After listening to the owl for over an hour, Sharon had that smile that looks good to adults, but, in reality, should be feared utterly.

Neither Maggie nor Sam were ever seen again, but Sharon was allowed to keep the two toads she found as pets to help her through her tough time.

Marriage

“To Have and to Hold”

By Scott L Vannatter – October 25, 2014

It was an arranged marriage and Chelsey did not like Hubert one bit.

He was going to be her husband only because her family owed him so much money which he promised to forgive after the ceremony.

This did not, of course, happen and her poor father was going to have to work himself to death in the mine just to keep out of legal problems and from losing his house and family; her mother was sickly and Chelsey was an only child.

On their wedding night, Chelsey, with a smile, told him she would give him what he deserved.

How unfortunate she should be a widow after one night because of a loose rug at the top of the stairs?
