“Bits of Life”

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

He thought of his collection as he danced with her, holding her close, smelling the blood.  A pink baby bootie to remember the pediatric nurse, Selena, and an etch-a-sketch for Belle, engineering student, were two of the many souvenirs he kept in the large shadow box hanging in his quaint, Victorian kitchen on the West side of town.  People commented on his pieces (by people, of course, he meant other such as him) and he was allowed long discourses on favored ones.

The music stopped.   She said she wanted to be alone with him.  Ah, such a pretty hair pin.
