Friday Fictioneers – Let’s Try Again…

Oh, it has been a long time since I allowed myself the time to come here and free write.  It has been a busy…um…several years.  Things have happened.  I have been working on a book, scifi, and stopped more times than I have started, I think.  I have been through illnesses and worked them out.  I have proclaimed myself as a member of BDSM in a post on WordPress >here< and lived through that, also.  I have 2 great nieces, now aged…I believe 3,4 or 4,5 lol

Best news is that I set my scifi book aside and my daughter and I are collaborating on a book, nonfiction, about our lives and beliefs.  i am excited!  So is she!  It will be awhile, but I know it will be worthwhile.

I have grown as a person using the Law of Attraction, even begun a study group on Pam Grout’s work.  Here is a sample >here<

Enough of that, below is a long-time-coming of my input to this site.

He looked down at his feet. He focused on the strings and saw a myriad of tentacles sailing out into the world, connecting him to everywhere. Mentally, he tugged on a strand; feeling the ripples carry out into the universe, making others take notice or simply change paths. He had altered 32 individuals with this motion, tipping them in the proper direction. He realized his tug then had resulted in those 32 affecting 397 others positively. Following, he saw 2,694 from that connection and then 14,238. He stopped looking, returned to his shoes. He bent down, tying the other string.

“I Spy”

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

Hal looked intently through the flower at the window. The ice dripping from the flower went unnoticed by his, usually, keen eyes. He was looking for Chandra.

He could just make out her form dusting the furniture in her house. He wished it was his house.

“Watcha doin’, Mister?” Hal jumped and fell rump first in the melting snow and the mud.

Getting up he looked the boy over.

“Why did you scare me like that?”

“Was getting ready to go in and saw ya starin’.”

“That’s your house? Your mom is… Chandra?”

“Yup.”

Had it really been that long?

“We’ll be Right Back?”

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words

Michael picked up the portable, wireless  microphone and stepped into the crowded street.  He detested doing this assignment, but Joe was the boss and Michael did sleep with Joe’s sister.  Consequences…  He cleared his throat.

“Ladies, Gentlemen, and those who are not yet sure.  We are here on Main Street and going on behind me is the 32nd hour of the “Dance of the Apocalypse”.  As you may know, this parade started shortly after one of the citizens received a ‘message’ from beyond that said the world would end at noon today.  It is now 11:59:56 and we are not seeing…”

Halloween is Everywhere

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words

Mareelin and Timothe entered the small courtyard.

“What a miserable assignment for Halloween.”

“It’s adorable.”

“Yeah,” said Timothe, “That’s what I mean.”

“Well, it will sort itself out. After all, it is Halloween.”

“I suppose. We can start, I guess, by talking to the sweet couple.”

“What couple, Tim?” Mareelin looked puzzled.

“That quaint couple sitting in the chairs at the table.” Timothe pointed.

“Dear, there’s no one there.”

“Well,” said Tim looking at the smiling couple in the Victorian aged garb, “I guess I know right where we can start for a great Halloween story!”

The couple smiled again.

Picture of the Present

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

Perry stopped to look at the long table of pictures set up in front of the scene. The first showed the lake in all its glory spread to the winds, the picturesque nature all around. The scenes then progressed, showing the lake as a few homes went up, then a dock, pier, buildings, a small town, big town, now a city, on and on, until now.

Perry picked up his satchel, took out his brush and paints, and began. It was so difficult to paint the current scene, so much had happened since the last war, not enough brown paint…
