Clarity and Truth Ignored

By Scott L Vannatter

Clarisse opened one of the drawers in the writing table she had gotten at the bazaar. She unfolded the parchment she found. She was pleased with both.

The parchment was written by the man pictured sitting. It seemed obvious the man was writing something important, perhaps, the beginnings of a book.

Her eyes went wide. She knew no one had ever seen this piece before. It was, simply, the man in the picture writing about how horrible he felt the other picture (of the hunt) had been done. He felt it mostly childlike in nature.

She tore the piece up.

“A Bird in the …”

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

Scott was done with online dating. It was frustrating. Since he found that old medallion in the knick-knack shop, he was free. It allowed him to fly and fast! He had spent weeks perfecting his technique, riding the wind currents and soaring among the trees.

Now, he was flying alongside a 747, signaling to the cute blonde in 12C. She saw him wave and, after being shocked, smiled, waving back coquettishly. Suddenly a goose slammed into Scott’s face and he rolled back, smacking hard into the wing. After pulling out the feathers, he wondered if he still had his password.

The Gods Unremembered

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

Young Tony walked slowly up to the 30 foot statue and stared. The bronze and iron cast was covered in mold and barnacles and other scrapings from the sea. He turned to his father and, with a look of complete loss, asked the burning question.

“Dad, who is this?”

His father, being careful not to appear too ignorant, shuffled a bit before replying.

“Not really certain. It’s too covered to really tell.”

The couple walked off down the beach. Inside the statue, the mind was screaming.

“Triton! Just remember and I return! Why are you mortals so ignorant?”

Sadness overcomes.

Wait for it… Humorous PG

Rochelle is taking a break.  The prompt for the week is from a long time ago when Madison ran things.  I decided it would take way longer to find that post than to write a new one.  Is it better?  I don’t know…  Click > HERE < for the rest.  Enjoy!!!

Wait for it

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words

Jennie looked at the object once again. She still thought it was a cow’s skull stuck in an elm. She looked at Trevor, wrinkling her nose for the third time in the same number of minutes.

“Tell me again. I still don’t get it.”

A sigh issued from Trevor. “I said it’s not a cow, it’s a bull.”

“So, it’s a what…a tree bull?”

“Yes, sounds about right.”

“It stuck up there really well. A strong wind might move it a bit.”

“A bit?”

“You know…wobble.”

“Ah yes, now I have it: tree bulls wobble, but they won’t fall down.”

Attention, Please!

by Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words

“Now, Mr. Saleno, please just look out the window at the beautiful scenery while I fix your tooth.”

Joe Saleno decided to do just that: distract himself so as not to be nervous.

He looked out the Dentist’s window.

He saw the boat realizing it had a bridge;

He looked at the truck thinking it might have a drill in the back;

The house had steps that looked like teeth and the paint was probably enamel-based.

“Mr. Saleno, please stop!”

Joe stopped looking out the window (which had a pane, by the way) and realized he had bit the dentist.
