Welcome to My Parlor – Word Count 100 By Scott L Vannatter
George really liked, maybe loved, Sarah. So, when she called him over to see the new spider “home” because he was a “web” designer, he rushed to her place. Sure enough, it was an amazing web, in the kitchen, quite large and looking out-of-place.
“You should see the one in my bedroom,” Sarah said behind him.
George turned to smile at the innuendo and started screaming. There was Sarah, six extra furry arms, sticking out from her back.
She used four of them to pick George up like he was nothing. A spider’s mouth spoke to him.
“My children are…hungry.”
Namaste,
Scott

Lighting the Way (100 words) by Scott Vannatter
Sam and the others walked outside to gather round the “lampost” that had dropped form the sky and stuck in the middle of Elm street. All were trying to figure out where it had come from.
“Hurricane,” yelled one.
“Airplane,” hollered another.
Sam was just starting to get his head wrapped around it when the light began to glow. It got brighter until no one could look at it. Then, abruptly, lightning bolts sizzled out of it and struck every house on the block.
Sam thought, “Aliens,” when he realized there where fires on other blocks, too.
It had begun.
Namaste,
Scott

Friday Fictioneers – a wonderful collection of a photo-based 100 word story. >HERE<
It was nearly dark, that weird time when shadows played with the minds.
The elder tree did not mind the games, but had not time at the moment. He had a calling.
The open knothole, turned up, began to glow and a pale yellow light shot forth to the clouds.
The beam bounced off clouds, sailed from any surface, striking all other trees who responded in kind.
Slowly, they started to move, ripping their roots from the ground. Their many legs now carried them faster and faster across landscapes, crushing homes and people in their wake.
The invasion had begun…finally.
Word count: 100 words

“Perception”
By Scott L Vannatter – November 13, 2014
“Would anyone know if there truly was an alien invasion?” Ramon sat back and asked the question during breakfast. He had a tendency to not let a meal pass without a formal dissertation on something that needled at his brain.
“I wouldn’t and not even certain if I would care as long as they served breakfast like this,” Thom guffawed while holding his greens high overhead.
“Here, here!” agreed Simon, munching hard on his own meal.
Ramon looked over the group and had to agree on two fronts. First, yes, this was an excellent breakfast, and second, he would not care much if aliens took them over as long as they served breakfast like this and allowed he and his friends to eat together. With that he opened his mandibular jaws and bit down hard on the plant stem in front of him.

Invasion, Seriously
By Scott L Vannatter
6/5/13
_____
“Come on, you gotta see this!” Cal hollered at Rem.
They climbed to an overlook of the valley. Below were a hundred spaceships.
The aliens were part elephant, giraffe, tiger, and zebra.
“See?” Cal turned to see Rem rolling on the ground laughing, his shirttail out, and his shoes falling off.
“That’s their best weapon! They are totally disarming!”
He continued to look as Rem began to turn red and choke a bit on his own spit as he bellowed.
“They will walk all over us,” sighed Cal as he turned back, leaving the snorts and giggles in the background.
