He sat quietly on the sandy shore, the white grains sticking to his hot feet. He looked over the beach at this angelic paradise. He thought of the beautiful, dancing women, the exotic, local food, the wildness of the evening parties. They filled his thoughts all during the daylight hours, except for when he slept. Ah, but then, he dreamed. Those dreams never captured the truth of the enjoyment, of the primitiveness, of the pure joy that flowed from them. But those were gone.
Now, it was approaching night. The daydreams and sleep were gone, gone with the light. Now, darkness would settle in…and the nightmare would really begin. As if on cue, a high-whining cry pierced the peaceful quiet. He was up and moving, moving until morning.
