Off from Poppyland

The motley crew, one by one, began to drop to their knees, each succumbing to the scented nectar of the poppies all around them.
The Tin man first, his clanking heard round the empire, followed by the lion who, for his entire cowardliness, managed to fall asleep in front of everyone.
The scarecrow nested among his own limbs of straw softness; Dorothy lying in his arms.
Lastly, the skinny little runt of a dog managed to nose off the crimson slippers and step into them with a “tap” “tap” “tap”.
“Heading back, homies,” he growled, fading into the afternoon sun.
