Continue?

As I often do, I read all the wonderful posts by people I have come to admire and even love in that way you care for close friends.  I won’t list them here in full, so please forgive if you believe you are on that list and I don’t put your blog here.  I follow a great deal and read so few when compared, but there are those I try not to miss or to, at least, read when I can. Please the attached links only lead back to my blog.  If you want to visit (And I truly hope you do), use the search option on the name of the blog.

Bye the way, Truth and Cake is the very first blog I followed.  I haven’t seen her blogs in a long time, but she was given a prime spot blog link after just blogging a few weeks!  I was in on that and, I believe, I read posts from her engagement through her wedding.

After the name:

** – Close friends.  I try hard to read every post they post.

*-Friends.  I try to read most posts

@ – Past Friends.  I would read a post if they posted,

As I look back on this list, I see 3 things.

First,  I have and have had a lot of friends, many of whom I still talk to after years of following.  I have only met 2 of them Dayna Lopez and Orton Gilliangham director – Marisa Bernard.

Second, There are a lot of past blogs I used to read, but who don’t post hardly at all.

Third, I really understand why I am online so very much with blogging.

Even though I may not blog often (I began blogging with doing so every single day for over a year), I have been blogging for over 10 years now (just got my attaboy from WordPress the other day).

People have helped me through difficult times since my stroke, giving me both friends to share with and answers and hopes when I post them.

This post did not go as I had in mind (big surprise there!), but I love where it went.  Thanks to everyone on that list and anyone I may have left out.  I, currently, follow 194 blogs and can’t read them all.  But it does tell me part of why my email inbox has a normal amount of 90-300 emails per day in it!

Love you all.  Namaste,

Scott

Absence Makes the Heart…hmmm

Just a reminder that I will be very sparse (if any) posts for awhile.  I still hope to read several posts a day.  We shall see.  In my absence, here is a list, in no real order, of some films I like that were not particularly watched by the big-time audience.  You may have heard of some, but have you watched all of them?

1)  Benny and Joon (The Dep in an interesting romance)

2)  Wrong Turn 2 (Horror, gross and fun)

3)  Awake (Suspense, bordering on horror)

4)  Darby and the Little People (Old-style comedy)

5)  Army of Darkness (scary and funny, what more could you want?)

6)  Taken (Good Old Liam)

7)  Unknown (Liam again)

8)  The Intention of Lying (comedy)

9)  King Arthur (Clive Owens and Keira Knightley, 2004)

10)  Bicentennial Man (Dear Robin, at his best as far as I am concerned)

11)  Serenity (Sci-fi, comedy, and suspense – Movie based on series “Firefly”)

12)  The Reduced Shakespeare Company

13)  Kiss Kiss Bang Bang – Funny, kinda gross, really weird, I love it!)

14)  IQ (Meg Ryan, Tim Robbins, and Walter Matthau, who could ask for more?)

15)  I will add the newest “Into the Woods”  which was excellently moved from stage to big screen!

Megan’s Suggestion: Pros and Cons

Well, Megan, posted the idea of making a list of pros and cons about ourselves and to link back to her blog if you wanted to.  She said she would link hers back to mine in return.  Hm, I didn’t say that quite right, but I think you understand.  Anyway, I am game, so here we go, in no particular order:

Pros:

1)  I have a lot of time to spend on things I consider important.

2)  I speak my mind much more often now.

3)  My self-esteem is quite high.

4)  I am now a published author.

5)  I have also self-published on Kindle.

6)  My relationship with God is strong and solid.

7)  I do not get sick very often.

8)  I have no debts, except my house.

9)  My children are successful and happy; they make me proud.

10) I have many more pros than I am writing here.

Cons:

1)  I had a stroke that almost killed me (for good).

2)  My short-term memory is somewhat faulty now.

3)  I have to use a cane to walk more than a few dozen yards.

4)  I can’t play volley ball anymore.

5)  I don’t get to teach in school.

6)  Being disabled means low on money most of the time.

7)  My medications have some side-effects I don’t care for

8)  My temper is shorter now.

9)  I don’t feel as desirable anymore.

10)  Unfortunately, there are more cons I could write as well.

Kinda followed her rules.  The cons are things I don’t like, not necessarily things bad about me, but the thought is there!

Reading List – Just for You

Source: Google Images – Licensed for Reuse Click Pic for Page

I thought that, for tonight, I would try something a bit different.  Instead of trying to tout myself up or write something to totally intrigue you, I decided I would print a list of the top 20 blogs I follow and try to read.  I don’t always succeed (especially of late), but these people work very hard and are truly fascinating to read.  Many of them read each other, of course; however, not all do.  There will definitely be someone on here you don’t normally read.

I don’t ask that you choose one and follow; what I do ask is that, instead of reading my 1000 words or so, please choose one from the list below, read it and comment – either comment on it or comment on mine about which one you decided (or didn’t) to read.

List: (not in order)

1)  Carnival Day – Haibun Thinking  An Elephantcant

2) The Importance of Not Knowing  Adrianna’s Random

3) GirlBoner Solo Sex: 5 Masturbation Tips Worth Trying  August McLaughlin

4) I survived…  Behind the Mask of Abuse

5) The truth about myself: A story on self-hate  Boomie Bol

6) A Ya Novel and a Research Trip  Debra Kristie

7) A dog’s nose  Harvesting Hecate

8) “I always feel like somebody’s watching me”  hope the Happy Hugger

9) In which I discover that I’ve learned nothing for the past three years of college.  I Think in Comics

10) Friday Fictioneers-16 MAY 2014/ the Black Sheep Indira’s Blog

11) Miscellaneous May Musings — And WordPress Heard Us JMMcDowell

12) Free stuff is cool: last day  Mollie Player

13) MEETING THE WILD CHILD!  Susie Lindau

14) Friday Fictioneers–Another World  This That and the Other Thing

15) Deadly Dreams  The Netherworld

16) Derby + beer + dress ups  The News with Nipples

17) Cat In A Box And A New Hairbrush  The War in My Brain

18) Wicked Nights Blog Hop  Theinnerwildkat

19) vulnerability Who is Bert

20) Texting After Dark  Rendezvous with Renee

Now, I usually have about 47 listed in my emails to read and I follow a little over twice that (so, very near 100).  I have said before that I can’t read them all and, now, I am actually working a lot and can’t read most of them.  Every week to two, though, I try to read, at least 15-20, commenting on several, liking all I read.

Just letting you know that some of you I follow because I don’t want to lose track of you.  I may pop in and read yours sometime.

Regardless, I hope you had fun.
