What a Beautiful Sound – But Let’s Stop Music in the Schools!

I will be kinda sparse here for a couple of weeks.  Not leaving, but gonna be real busy.  I still hope to read and comment on a lot of posts by all of you.

To leave you on a “High Note”, so to speak, here is the reason we should stop all music and art in the schools.  Please read that last line as sarcastic crap!

That takes so much teamwork, effort, practice, and skill!  How can we take this opportunity and others like it away from our children?

Raise a real stink about this one!

“The Marian Kind”

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

Marian walked outside the library and over to the man lying on the grass.

“Sir?”

“Ma’am, is this Iowa?”

“Yes,” she looked strangely at him.

“And, are you Marian, the librarian?”

She nodded.

“I am here to start a boys’ band in your town!”

“And, I suppose you graduated from Gary, Indiana?”

“Why yes, I did indeed!  I’m Professor Har…”

“Yeah, yeah.  Beat it, Hill.  I will tell you the same thing I told the guy in tights with the bow and arrows last week:  wrong Marian, wrong time…stupid wormhole. ”

She walked away leaving the man looking after her…

Friday Fictioneers – FF – Music Soothes the Savage Beast, All Else…” PG13 Sci-fi Humor

This one came from the idea found in an old Sci-fi tale of which I cannot remember the name or the author.  Apologies.

“Music Soothes the Savage Beast, All Else…”

By Scott L Vannatter – 100 Words

“You really don’t understand,” said Prof Jonhaven as they looked around the room.

Electrical music equipment, mostly keyboards, filled the area so much that the two could almost not move around.

“No, Professor, I guess I don’t,” replied Justin, a new music student.

Professor Von Josburg was a genius in the musical field. He could make music do almost anything.”

“I guess, Sir, but I don’t see why they hauled him away to prison just for that.”

“Simple. You see keyboards and musical instruments. He sought to find the perfect melody. In the end, it would have enslaved the world!”

Get With It

Scott L Vannatter – 100 words

Horace could never hope to do as well as his brother Michael and their grandfather, Cecil.  Those two could play those strings with such pizazz!  How could he compete?  His life was tied up with electronics.  It was the 60’s for gosh sakes!  The world was full of songs and love and hunts for peace and tranquility.  What chance did he have with his dumb ideas for a future in which people could speak, write, and send their thoughts across vast distances through television screens?  It was ludicrous.  The only people he ever attracted attention from were those mathematician types.
