A Life of Total Bliss?

I have been stating the last few weeks that “All things are perfect” and “All things work out in the end”.  Now, I truly believe both those statements.  But I made a comment on another blog that I have been very irritated this week and things have gotten to me.  So, does that negate everything I have been saying?  No.

I am in control of what I concentrate on in my thinking.  I don’t control every thought.  Those come from the past and all the things I have done or said and everything people around me have done and said, plus all the TV and computer stuff I watch and/or listen to.  So, that’s a lot!

Those thought race through my head and try to take my life over all the time.  I just try, very hard at times, to keep focused on those two wonderful statements:

All things are perfect.

All things work out in the end.

Small example.  This morning I got up (well, this afternoon) and realized that I have been looking for my checks for 2 weeks now.  I do most of my stuff online, but do have to write a couple of checks a month, so a book last me quite awhile.  Anyway, I finally found a card or statement (something) that said I need to reorder checks. I began the process and when I was almost done the total was over $93 in order to get the best deal.  I didn’t like that, but kept going.  I have an app on my phone and on my PC called “Honey”.  It is supposed to comb the Internet for coupons and savings, but has never saved me anything in over a year.  It popped up and said it had some coupons to apply here.  I thought “Why not?”  So, I did.  Final total was $13.20!!! This Law of Attraction is so cool.  I intend to save and have money and stuff like this happens all the time.

So, just keep reminding yourself of my two statements and believe them and do intentions.  Pam Grout’s “E Squared” and Anita Moorjani’s book “Dying to Be Me” will explain it all so much better.

Namaste to all of you,

Scott

Are We Going to have an Impeachment?

The question on most people’s mind is “Is President Trump going to be impeached?”  followed by “Who takes over?”.  I knew the answers to most of this, but not the whole process.  So, I read a very good article on the matter.  That article is below in the link.  I don’t know what’s going to happen.  According to the article no president has ever been impeached.  Three had the threat, two were not impeached and Nixon resigned. Other than that, here you go:

Impeachment Process

Have a good day, night, weekend, or whatever…

Namaste,

Hey, Donald…

Sir,

I would like to clear the air about a few generic matters here.  First of all, I really need for you to understand that there were 2 reasons I did vote for you in the last election.

  1. I did not like the candidate running for the Democratic party at all.  I would have voted for almost anyone who was running against her.
  2. I like some of the attitude you portrayed and the way you managed to win the primary.

Now, I need for you to understand the implications of what 1 and 2 above state:  They do not say I support all or even most of your agendas.  I am very used to a party candidate making all sorts of campaign promises and having those disappear right after the election.  I never expected, nor do I expect your “wall” to be built on the border.  However, you have made another “wall” between us and Mexico and it is not a very pretty one.  Can’t say I approve.

Next, I can’t say I approve of most of your values toward women.

Finally, I know that I am against your railings against the LBGTQ.  I spend a lot of time with friends and all who belong to that group of wonderful people.  We have made such strides toward getting the public to, at least, tolerate and, at most, begin to accept all these wonderful individuals.  You lost a lot of my respect with this move.

There are, I am  positive, many other points we would strongly disagree on, but I am not going to deal with those right now.  I will let you know that I am tired of being raked over the coals for the three-second action of pressing a button and accepting my ballot.  You have disappointed me in so very many ways, Sir.  I stand by the office of my President.  You, Sir, I do not need to stand behind.

Sincerely,
Scott L Vannatter

What are We Running Here?

I don’t know precisely where this post will end, what note it will finally rest on, but here it is (me being tired and all).  I awoke early this morning to my computer.  I logged in, signed on to Comcast, and there was a headline about Roseanne being cancelled.  I had to look further.  When I poked around Google for a bit, I found what I was looking for, which was not what I was looking for at 7:10AM on a Wednesday.  I had not planned on watching the redone “Roseanne”, just wasn’t my cup of tea in the first place; however, to see that the TV station and Disney had dropped the show so early made me read on. I am not going to repost Rosanne’s tweets. I don’t feel that is necessary.  I suppose I have to agree with Disney and all as if I made such a statement at work about someone in my company, I would find myself in the boss’s office facing the demise of my job or, at least, severe disciplinary actions.

I am not in any way saying her tweets were proper, correct, or anything positive at all.  They pissed me off.  I didn’t care for the cooking lady who made the racist remark either back a couple years ago.  However, something has my attention here.  Now, I voted for Barack in the first election.  Thought, perhaps, he could help things along.  I, personally, was disappointed in the first 4 years.  Now, that may have been news prejudice, I won’t say it wasn’t, however, even today I am not really happy with those 4 years.  So, I didn’t vote for him the second term. I am allowed; it’s my right. And, I shook my head when he won, but then, I did acknowledge him as our President.

Now, I have gone on written record here as saying that I voted for Trump.  Well, actually, I voted against Hillary.  I was surprised and pleased when he won.  However, I need to ask:  why have Rosanne and so many others get into so much trouble for making comments like they did and our President, whom I am not pleased with, has made some comments on Twitter that have surprised the heck out of me.  I won’t say he has come right out with any racist remarks, but he picks on everyone who doesn’t care for him and there seems to be no repercussions.  Now, I am not saying to impeach him or anything like that.  It simply seems to me, in my own humble opinion, that the leader of our country should have better things to do than get angry on Twitter.  Again, some of this may be the other side’s bias news, but not all of it is.

What I see is a glaring split between what a movie or TV star can get away with and what people with real power can get away with.  I know that much of our Senate and Congress are not a whole lot better.  There are many laws trying to be passed that are simply ridiculous.  There is much being done and said that should outrage everyone.  I am not saying to get rid of all of them (though limiting terms would be nice up there).  I am just saying keep a level playing ground.

Rant done and I feel better,

Namaste,

Scott

That 4-Letter Word

Hate – yup, that one.  I have seen it off and on my entire life.  However, now I see it a bit differently. Here’s why:

This last election was a very temper-driven one, as Shakespeare said, “Full of Sound and fury, signifying nothing” (Macbeth, I believe).

I look at our nation right now and I don’t see that much has changed.  It is just as anger-filled as it was with Pres, Obama.  People think that his 8 years were directed toward peace and some tenderness.  They, apparently, weren’t listening to the shouting going on behind the scenes, the Republicans who were very unhappy with the results of the presidency.  Even now, those words ring out.

And for those now screaming about the Republicans and Obama rip, don’t forget the “quiet, calm” Democrats screaming and yelling and starting fights at Republican conventions.  Don’t forget all the hate-filled words tossed out now at the current president, Donald Trump.  Yes, all that has changed is the sides.  Hate still reigns.

Not totally what I was going to write about, but I do let my words go where they might.  This all stemmed from a very emotional TED talk:  Revolutionary Love .

You watch all 22 minutes and see if she doesn’t make you either tear up or, at least, think about the way it all is.  Hate is not much of an answer.

I said it started with the TED talk, but what really did it was another wonderful dating site wonder.  Here, I had another woman who wrote tons of wonderful stuff, things I was interested in, a person I wanted to know.  Then, her last line in her profile:

“If you voted for Trump, pass me by.”

I don’t remember if I actually did it, but I know I really thought about writing her back and saying, “Please change your profile and put the last line first.  You will waste less of my time.”

What angered me was not that she did not want to go out with Trump supporters.  That is as much her right as mine to date younger women or non-BBWs.  Both are fine.  So are older women and BBWs.  I have said this.  It is just a preference.  My statement may have sounded the same.  I ask that if you are older or BBW you know that you might not be my preference, however, I have spoken to and been interested in both.  People are people.  You cannot make a blanket statement.  I put those preferences in there because if I decide to meet an older woman or a BBW, then I want to be the one to choose.  I do see that either can be a very wonderful, beautiful person whom I would be lucky to know and, perhaps, even luckier to date.  But I just don’t want to be inundated with them in my inbox.  Let me look and decide on my own. I feel the same for the women who do not wish to date someone who voted for Trump – your choice.

However, that is not the problem here.  The problem is that I mention that there is nothing inherently wrong with BBWs or older women (at least, I try to make that effort).  The women who I read who do not want to see a Trump voter do not acknowledge that a person who supports or voted for President Trump can be a worthwhile person.  They, basically, hate anyone who voted for him.  I have said many times that I don’t fully agree with President Trump’s stands/views.  I do support LBGTQ.  I am fine with single-sex marriages. I am not in favor of just sending all refugees back to their countries (though, if you read, Trump isn’t either).  I have problems with a lot of his stands.  However, I did not want Ms. Clinton at the helm of our country.  It was something I could not support.  And, after watching Donald Trump overcome such odds in the Primary, I felt he would be our best chance of keeping her out.  Do I hate Hilary?  No…I don’t hate anyone.  I just think her agenda does not go well with an America that is what I wish to see in America.  Is President Trump’s vision mine?  No.  But, I think we will survive his presidency better.  It was a matter of degrees.  That is what I wish people would see in place of just hate.

Hate is filling our streets.  We are angry at so much and taking it out on any target we are given that is deemed acceptable by someone we believe in.  Hate.  A four-letter word.  I hope (another 4 letter word) that we will set the hate aside and go more in the direction of Love (yet another).  Be the change…Ghandi was right.  We had to do it.  No one else may.

Namaste,

Scott
